When assigning pathways via a CSV, DPR automatically works out the appropriate year group by looking at a student's classes. However, if a student is part of multiple classes with varying year groups, DPR may not always select the most appropriate year group (e.g. if a student is in both Year 12 and 13 classes for Maths and the school would like the student to be taught key objectives for Year 13, DPR may pick either year 12 or 13 key objectives).
We'll walk through the process of correctly assigning a mixed year group students pathway.
Example Scenario:
- Student: John Doe
- Studies Maths
- Is part of 2 Maths classes which have different year groups (12/Ma and 13/Ma)
- The student is currently assigned a pathway for year 12 but the school would like him to be taught year 13 key objectives
1. De-allocate incorrect pathway
To begin, the incorrect pathway allocation must be deallocated. This will result in the deletion of any judgements for the associated subject (we recommend teachers take a screenshot of the judgements to make it easier to re-assign the correct judgements after the correct pathway has been assigned)
- Click the relevant collection
- Go to the pathways tab and select the relevant subject area and year group (year group must be selected for this process)
- Based on the example scenario, we would select year 12
- Click the dropdown and select De-assign
- Click Save Changes
2. Allocate the correct pathway
Once the incorrect pathway has been allocated, we can now move onto assigning the correct pathway.
- Select the relevant subject area and year group (year group must be selected for this process)
- Based on the example scenario, we would select year 13
- Click the dropdown and select the relevant pathway
- Click Save Changes
This process will need to be repeated for all collections as the data of each collection is stored independently of other collections.
