Phase 1: Pre Launch - School Set Up
Curriculum Committee/SLT (Approximately 2 – 4 Weeks)
- The initial implementation stage will need to be mapped out. A checklist of actions with a clear timeline can be used to do this. (An example timeline has been attached)
- DPR should be demonstrated to the whole school. This will provide an opportunity to share the vision and ethos behind the reporting system.
- We recommend that you form a ‘Curriculum Committee’; these are key people within the school who will directly lead the faculties to develop their curriculum.
- SLT should agree on what, how and when DPR judgements should be collected. This should be calendered in. It is usually collected one week after an assessment has been completed.
- Learning key objectives (KOs) are already provided for most subjects. With a member of the Curriculum Committee, Heads of Faculties should look through these KOs and decide whether or not they are suitable (example key objective attached below). This is a useful exercise and should, where possible, be calendered at curriculum committee meetings.
- Where KOs are not suitable, changes to these KOs should be done before the DPR goes live to all staff and students. Changes to KOs can be made after the DPR goes live but this may cause issues if judgments have already been made - teachers may have to go back and change their judgments. Any changes to the KOs should be carefully monitored by the Curriculum Committee and the SLT.
- Departments that do not have KOs will need to create them from scratch. Members of the Curriculum Committee can be used to provide support and guidance. We recommend you create approximately 10 KOs per year group for ease and effectiveness.
- Once the KOs are ready, they can be uploaded into the DPR by your school's data manager.
- All KOs should be regularly checked and monitored by the Curriculum Committee to ensure they are relevant, challenging and fit for purpose.
- SLT may need to update all policies linked to DPR (assessment, homework, feedback, reporting) among others.
Data Manager (Approximately 1 week)
- An initial email will be sent by Axle Education to the school. This email will contain a link to a setup form which must be completed.
- Once a school has completed the setup form, an email from ‘Wonde’ (MIS integration partner) will be sent to be completed by the school in order for the MIS integration to be started.
- An administrator login will then be created for the school which can be used via https://dpr.education/admin/login
- Data manager will need to carry out checks to see if the MIS integration has pulled in all the students, teachers and class data
- Data manager will need to set ‘Progress Options’, a tab only the DPR administrator will have access to, to set up what data needs to be collected based on what the school has requested in Curriculum Committee/SLT bullet point 3.
- Data manager will need to delete redundant subjects on the ‘Subject Manager’ tab by comparing against classes created on ‘Class Manager’.
- Data manager will then upload relevant key objectives based on subjects that are on offer. Where there are no KOs, the Curriculum Committee may need to create these as stated on Curriculum Committee/SLT bullet point 6, until then blank KOs will need to be uploaded.
- Important Note: Key Objectives need to be uploaded in a specific format with particular headers. An example has been attached "example_upload_ko_format.csv"
- The relevant collections will need to be created via ‘Collection Manager’ page
- Collections generally correspond to a schools terms
- When creating collections, there is also the option to specify a warning date. This date is used to prompt teachers of a collection coming to a close and allows teachers to confirm judgements are up to date for a particular class
- Collections generally correspond to a schools terms
- Students will be allocated their pathways based on prior data (KS2 test results, CATs test, baseline tests). Please refer to the Pathway Allocation article
- Data Manager will need to put students’ pathways on to a CSV file and upload onto ‘Collection Manager’ in DPR.
- Data Manager will need to put students’ progress grades onto a CSV file and upload onto ‘Collection Manager’ in DPR.
- Data Manager will need to carry out checks on classes using the ‘Class Manager’, any missing pathways or progress data will need to be updated.
